I have been gazing for twenty minutes at a blank page, but I have nothing. Please keep the bridge collapse victims and their families in your thoughts.

Deplorable solipsism? The new face of literature? Or merely a clever procrastination device...

I just saw the pictures on tv. I am so shocked and horrified. You and other friends I have in the Twin Cities came right to mind. So upset – it’s impossible to believe this really happened.
That shocked the shit out of me. I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve crossed that bridge.
Oh my word. I will definitely be praying. What a horrible tragedy.
I just found out that my sister had driven over that bridge twice yesterday, and once was about 1/2 hour before the collapse.
GAH.
Just awful. We have a number of friends in the area who use that bridge regularly, and we were just horrified to hear about it.
When you do decide to post, please talk about the urgent need to properly fund infrastructure in Minnesota and across the country. Maybe you could take a couple shots at the anti-investment/anti-tax party in our great state — why are we surprised??
Thank-you for posting. When I first heard about it my first thoughts were of you, of course, since you are the only person I “know” who lives in the area. Happy you are safe.
I’m reliving the South Padre Island Causeway (Texas) collapse of 2001. My mom was supposed to be driving on the causeway that day, and the worry I went through back then came flashing back when I saw this news story. I have the Twin Cities in my thoughts.
