The First Day of The Rest of Her Life.

by Alexa on July 8, 2008

It is five months to the day after that first intubation, the one that happened down the hall from the operating room where my innards were being carefully replaced. I’ll let Mr. Astaire say the rest.

That was quite possibly the BEST video I’ve ever seen. I found your blog yesterday, and am just thrilled that Simone is off oxygen! And she is quite the dancer, I might add.

Hey, it’s a lot easier to spin a baby around the room without a cannula, huh? Yay for Simone!

Excellent! Simone is not only beautiful and wonderful, she’s astoundingly talented. Very nice. I’ve now had to watch this video 7 times in a row because my 4 year old daughter came in while it was playing and has become obsessed with it. “Again! Again!” She finally decided we could stop watching it (needs a potty break), but as she walked out of the office, she said over her shoulder, “I love Simone.” So. Damn. Cute. Thanks for sharing!

Yay Simone! I especially loved her concentration face during her tap solo! :)

Inspired choice of music! Love it, love it!

Congrats to you and Simone just luxiouriating in all that freedom! Now take her out for a walk in the park (think of Seurat). Walking with a baby is one of the greatest ways to burn off any baby weight.

Beautiful baby – no wonder she keeps winning that baby of the week award.

That was very cute. I have checked back over a dozen time in the last two days to see if you had gotten the results yet. I am very happy for you. I also think the tapping was adorable. Thank you for sharing with us.

Fancy moves, Miss Simone!! You are giving Mr. Astaire a run for his money… This video has me grinning from ear to ear, and not just because is 100% cannula-free. As far as I’m concerned, it’s the number one feel-good movie of the summer (OK, maybe second to my own recent feature of my daughter crawling for the first time…)

She had a really good beat going on there in the beginning. I’m thinking she’s one with the Astaire.

Huge congrats to your family, it must be a fabulous mood at Casa de Flotsam.

Wow. With footwork like that, she’ll be a contender for baby for the week for a good while…just up until she graduates to toddler of the week, I’m guessing. What a beautiful, beautiful girl. Congratulations!

The best video of someone else’s baby I’ve ever seen. I love how it’s timed to music! She’ll be a tap dancer before you know it.

Reply

Deborah July 9, 2008 at 7:37 pm

How on earth did you get her to dance like that?! Maybe she is just a natural. Yay Simone! It’s been fun following her progress the past few months.

Michelle July 9, 2008 at 7:52 pm

After you finished spinning her around did she wobble all over the place from the dizziness? :o)

Not “since of rhythm,” “SENSE of rhythm.”

It’s late.
