The Graduate.

Simone has outgrown her bassinet, and so today we (well, Scott) expanded her crib to full size.

Big Crib

Look at that! It’s practically as long as our bed! My baby weighs FOURTEEN POUNDS. The largest of the cats weighs twelve, so Simone has risen from sixth to third largest creature in the apartment. Nine months tomorrow, people.

I hope she enjoys her rapid rise within the hierarchy, as I don’t imagine she’ll be moving any farther up for some time.

Nine months? Good grief! I mean, happy nine-month birthday, Simone. (That was never nine months just then…)

You (and Simone) are kick-ass. I love when you do NaBloPoMo. How about every month?

Wow, she is getting so big! I remember the look of fear on the dog’s face when she realized that M had gotten bigger than her. Not nearly as bad as when she went rouge… I mean mobile.

That’s an awesome looking crib, but it looks like the ones that we recalled. There isn’t supposed to be a gap between the mattress and the frame.

umm “we” should say “were” I’m in no way associated with the manufacture or recalling of cribs and their mattresses =D

JEEZ. Your 25 weeker weighs more than my 28 weeker…and my 28 weeker is turning one on Tuesday. I think you know that when I say, “YAY for Simone” I’m also jealous of your fat baby.

But ha ha, mine has teeth.

Where’d you get that crib? I LOVE it!

Wow! What a big, beautiful girl she’s turning out to be! (And my girls, one a 38 weeker, 8+pound, one a 42 weeker-almost 8lbs, were only 18 and 17 pounds respectively at one, so there you go.

Wow…9 months seems so long – and yet the time went by so quickly.

I agree with OrchidLover – you should do NaBloPoMo every month!!!

Hey Alexa, hope you don’t mind my 2 cents here. I have the same crib, and when I expanded it from the bassinet size at first I had it the same way – we kept that middle piece where the pole gets screwed in (where your mobile is hanging from). However shortly thereafter we realized that there was something odd about how the middle side panels fit together, they didn’t quite align. Sure enough, after consulting Google and finding some pictures there, as well as the online brochure, I noticed that the pole is not supposed to be there in the full size crib, it is a bassinet-only feature. The whole bar where the pole gets screwed in does not belong in the full size crib at all, the two sides go right into each other, without that extra piece in the middle. When you assemble it correctly you will see that the side panel fit smoothly and flushed with each other. Too bad about losing the pole, useful for a mobile, indeed – but worth having the crib assembled the way it was meant to be. Which brings me – what a great crib, eh? We love it. Well worth the money, in my opinion, considering you get a bassinet, a crib, and great quality mattresses. For small apartments I think it is one of the best arrangements. They should have clearer assembly instructions though :-)
Anyway, mainly, go Simone, happy 9 months!
I can’t always comment, but I am reading along and thinking of you.

Wow! 9 months old and 14 pounds. She’s growing up so fast. I love the reference to her weighing more than the cats. It’s quite a milestone for a preemie when she’s finally bigger than the family pet. :D

I love her crib too! Is it hard to find sheets?
