I left Simone in her high chair today while I went to answer the phone, and when I returned, I found her like this:

Now, ever since she learned to lift that foot out, it’s a struggle to get her to sit in the chair normally. Because, you know, her way is so comfortable.

Babies are weird.

She and the Wee Lass would get along just fine. We still have to tell her to keep her feet off the table, and she’s four!
Very cool!
Babies are weird and cute. These photos make me think you live in a tropical climate, but I am guessing it’s just easier to clean her up after meals and… um, drooling this way… I am also guessing she likes to play with the plastic syringe way more than with her actual toys.
I am sure other people have said this, and a lot, but I cannot get over how like your husband she looks!
So cute!
Very cute.
My baby used to do that in the bathtub… totally Baby Gone Wild.
Weird, but very, very cute! She does look like she’s Little Miss Innocent.
My son has a fascination with the high hair straps and tries to get his arms under the tray to undo them. Probably won’t be long now and then I’ll really be in trouble. See. It could be worse! :-)
My baby does the exact same thing. Different foot, though.
OMGsh how adorable! Just wait until she’s 2 and she learns how to crawl out of the high chair by scootching down under the tray, somehow between the straps and out onto the floor, without getting hurt. A feat my youngest granddaughter learned at age 2.
Haha that cracks me up! My niece used to sit (and still does at 2) in the weirdest way in any type of seat/car seat/high chair. She totally scoots her but forward so she is almost sinking and reclining. We are always constantly re-positioning her and scooting her back up, but baby insists on being comfortable and who can argue with a baby?!
That’s EXACTLY how Bella sits in her wee easy chair we got on her first birthday — from close to day one. Get her a wee beer, and start teaching her football. It will come in handy.
Love love love those moments when babies prove just how weird they are and how funny they are inherently.
Holy COW is that one cute weirdo.
OMG, she is sooo cute. I love this.
That is funny. It’s like she’s just sitting there chillin’ – like, “Hey, Mom. What’s up. Yeah, I got my foot on the tray. Whatcha gonna do about it?” Like it’s no big deal. Way too cute. Babies really are weird sometimes.
Ha ha! I love the syringe she has stashed in her pants. Just a little something for later.
Oh, yeah… Adam still sits like that whenever he can!!! Happy Thanksgiving!!!
babies are indeed weird :) but sooo CUTE!

Babies know how to have a good time. I think I’ll sit like that for Thanksgiving dinner…
What (as others have said) a cutie! Love the expression in the first picture. “Oh, hey Mom…what’s up?”
Ohhhh she just gets cuter and cuter every day and I soooooooo miss that age.
Was she naked when you left her or did she manage to disrobe as well? :)
If she were a boy the caption on that second one would have to be “Hellllooooo, ladies.”
If she was, I think.
She is adorable!
I know you’ve found NaBloPoMo to be a bit of a thorn in your side this year, but I for one am sorry to see it coming to an end. I’ve enjoyed everyone of your daily posts, even the white flag. And I’ll continue to enjoy your less than daily posts for a long time to come, I hope.
Thanks for all the pictures. I could just pick Simone up and squeeze her. (Would she like that?)
haha too cute!
I really like your highchair. Could you tell me what it’s called or who makes it?
Thanks!
My daughter did that for several months towards the end of her first year/beginning of her second year. It spilled over into the stroller too. I have lots of pics of it. Good times!
Sweet, sweet pictures.
FYI, that little black rubber end bit on the syringe she is playing with can come off – as I learned the hard way when I extracted one from the mouth of my sixteen-month old. And they are exactly the right size and shape to be a major choking hazard….
This pictures are too precious for words! LOVE THEM, she’s adorable!
So funny.
I know I will regret it when the time comes, but I’m DYING for Owen to start pulling these sorts of stunts. Newborns are so boring.
That last picture of her is beyond gorgeous!
Where’d you get the pink phone-shaped rattle? My daughter fell in love with her cousins black and white version over the Thanksgiving weekend and I have to find one for her.
A word of caution: If Simone can get that twisted around in her seat, she could just as easily over-balance and fall.
If you have to leave her to answer the phone (or for any other reason) put her on the floor – so she doesn’t have as far to fall.
