[...] Some merely inspire confusion, like sexy prairie hat (Really?) or what tolstoy does on christmas (watches the snow blow across the dead), or grape nuts heartbeat, which has an eerie “Tell-Tale Heart” [...]

I think the "try six weeks of therapy and if it doesn't get better we'll send you for an MRI is bullshit". If you are in that much pain I'd call her back (or cop out and talk to the nurse) and say "I'd like to go ahead and get that MRI now to make sure I haven't done something major". (That is, assuming you have insurance... I assume you do thru Scott)

I believe Jillian says of the modified jumping jack, "look elseWHERE." Which I know because I took your advice and became a Shred addict. Maybe you should try my other favorite at-home exercise: http://www.amazon.com/Shiva-Rea-Yoga-Shakti/dp/1591791847
I LOVE this and became addicted when I first got it.

You must get some lidoderm patches. they are expensive, but if you have insurance prescription coverage they should be covered. They are topically applied, so will not interfere with breastfeeding, but are worn for 12 hours and will cover your pain for 24 hours. They work best for chronic pain, so you have to wait for them to start to work which does take several hours, but they are great for any ortho pain.

Merry Christmas and a Happy shredded knee. So sorry.

Like several others, I also loved "Early to bed, early to writhe." So, so good. Here's hoping the knee improves very quickly.

Oof. I feel your pain. I'm currently suffering from a fractured elbow. Luckily I have some percocets. Hope you get some pain relievers soon!

I hope your knee problems get better. I actually had a total hip replacement in September as a result of a severely arthritic hip. Since I'm 29 and in relatively good shape, this was a total shock. Anyway, at the time of the surgery, my daughter was 7 months old and I was (and still am) breastfeeding.

I did a tremendous amount of research leading up to the surgery, and I consulted with 2 pharmacists, 2 certified lactation consultants, 1 pediatrician, 1 obstetrician, 1 certified nurse midwife, and a breastfeeding doula about the various medications I'd be taking. They ALL agreed that ALL the meds I was on (including morphine, vicodin, and ultram) were quite safe during breastfeeding. There are actually only a few medications which are truly contraindicated - mostly chemotherapy and radioactive drugs. Dr. Hale's book agreed with all of my sources.

Anyway, just in case you do end up needing some sort of pharmaceutical help in the future, I second the recommendation of Dr. Hale's site (mentioned in a comment above.)

Good luck!
