Ms. Alexa,
you are a baked alaska on my grill cheese and rubbery pickle days. I discovered your blog around the time you were heartily parsing Simone’s experience in nicu for a lovely reader who had chosen to compare her to a Headless Oxygenated Alsatian. And p.s., fuck you Mister, that kid is cute, smart, and knows how to dress to bring down the house (even in the nicu). Anyhoo, I had to stop reading in July when my own offspring threatened to make a 24 week appearance and run with the young and the restless. I lost my daughter M to prematurity at 21 weeks in 2007 and I was amazed to hear you simultaneously processing the vicissitudes of Simone while mourning Ames. Well done. I am now busy with my rubenesque baby boy but Istarted reading your blog again today and was thrilled to see your beautiful family surviving, thriving, and looking great doing it. Thank you, you are a great mum.
Ms. Lee

yeah I would have come home for that reason as well. They are both pretty adorable and I bet they missed you as much as you missed them!

The trees DO look lovely this time of year, quite right to come back.

Kidding, promise. Please don’t hunt me down with an axe. Spouse and Spawn are two of the best reasons I could think of…

Long time reader. Beautiful, beautiful picture, and the post title so perfect. Brought tears to my eyes.
