Deplorable solipsism? The new face of literature? Or merely a clever procrastination device...

It's Wednesday and I can't stop thinking about how far you've (Simone's) come. I hope all is going well. Can't wait to hear what your first week has been like (as I'm guessing you'll not have time to write for a bit). Until then- we're all thinking of you.

Okay, so I do realize you're in the midst of the joyous blissful stressful frenzy of having your baby at home at LAST, but I just have to say that I have now checked your blog five times so far today to see if there's an update!! No pressure though, of course! Just have fun loving that sweet little girl. Congratulations, I'm so happy for you guys.

Where were you three years ago when I needed you..oh, you were having your old life where you didn't know what a "pulse-ox" was, and didn't cheer when your baby gained 4 grams. I had 29 weeker identical twins in January of 2005 (but they were really small 29-weekers because they were sharing a sac and their umbilical cords were twisted). When they pulled Isabella out I said "How big is she?" They told me "1 pound 15 oz." and I said "Please, please round it up to 2."
There was NOTHING to read except for "Raising Sophia," which if you haven't read, need to find.
Your writing and insights and humor are a retroactive lifeline. I still, although I have two lovely petite healthy little girls, have much contempt for the utterly pregnant, and may always. Already in love with you and Alexa, this being nearly 7 minutes after reading 5 of your posts.

YAY SIMONE! Home sweet home.

Also, your comment about breastfeeding made me laugh out loud. That's the reason why I do it: because I'm lazy. (Also, cheap.)

Had I typed with a little more care, I might perhaps have stated

'... she has walked a very long road' (insert lower case 'w' and space as required)

Though I do rather like '..she has alked avery long road'. And, while we're on the subject, the elision of 'every' to 'evry' was of course a nod to bucolic poets of old. Yeah, right. I just can't type quickly.

Enjoy the girl and the moment nonetheless...
